DGCA rules · every Indian airline · free check

₹5,000–₹10,000 for a cancelled flight. In cash, not vouchers.

Cancelled under 24 hours' notice? Denied boarding? The rulebook sets cash compensation, and a voucher needs your signed agreement.

दो मिनट में पता करें — कितना पैसा बनता है।

The rulebook grades the cash by what the airline did and how far behind schedule it left you, and it applies whether or not you complain in writing.

How it works, and what it costs.

Compensation slabs and caps are encoded from the DGCA compensation rules (Part IV Rev.4) and shown with their clause references.

  1. Paste the airline's message

The parser lifts the flight, the date, the notice and the reason they gave — fields only, never an amount.

  2. Answer at most three questions

You are asked only about what the message left out, and only if it left something out.

  3. Read what appears owed

One rupee figure, the paragraph that produced it, and the working underneath.

Or nothing owed: the excluded reason named in plain words, and the refund that survives it.

  4. Leave your email to register interest

That address is the register of interest — it is how we know you want the letter sent, and how you hear the day it can be.

Every check is free — and so is your first letter.

You only pay if you’d like us to chase the airline for you instead of sending it yourself.

₹99

For the disruption you are holding right now, once your free letter has gone.

What we do

  • We email your complaint to the airline's nodal officer and keep the delivery receipt as proof
  • We watch the response clock and tell you the day it lapses
  • If the airline misses the deadline, we prepare and send the appellate escalation
  • Every reply and reference number logged against this one claim

Every trip · a month

₹499

For anyone who flies often enough to be disrupted again.

What we do

  • Every disruption on your trips checked against the DGCA rulebook automatically
  • We file and send each complaint for you, with delivery receipts kept
  • Automatic escalation — nodal officer, then appellate, then AirSewa — as each deadline passes
  • Status and reminders on every open claim, in one place
Start monthly

The check and your first letter cost nothing: we write the letter, hand you the airline's nodal-officer address, and you send it from your own inbox. Having us send it and chase the airline for you is the paid part, and it is not live yet — so nothing is charged in this phase. Registering interest takes an email address and nothing else: no card, no commitment.

What the rulebook actually says.

Para 3.2.2

Denied a seat you booked

Turn up holding a confirmed booking and get told the flight is full, and this paragraph sets cash. How much depends on how far behind your original departure the airline leaves you.

They get you away within an hour
no cash
An alternate the same day, inside 24 hours
₹10,000
No alternate, or one more than 24 hours later
₹20,000

Para 3.3.2

Cancelled without enough notice

A cancellation you get two weeks' warning about is one you can plan around, and it carries no cash. Cancel closer in, with no alternate flight you could actually take, and the paragraph grades the cash by how long the flight was scheduled to take.

Two weeks' notice or more
no cash
Short notice, flight scheduled up to 1 hour
₹5,000
Short notice, scheduled 1 to 2 hours
₹7,500
Short notice, scheduled over 2 hours
₹10,000

Para 3.5.1

Downgraded

Pay for one class and fly in a lower one, and you are owed the difference between the two fares. Not a voucher for the difference. The difference.

Para 3.4

Delayed, at length

Delay is graded in bands rather than paid as a fixed slab. The bands decide what the airline owes you as care while you wait, and past the long-delay band they give you the choice of a full refund instead of flying. If you took that option and the money has not come back, the refund clocks are the paragraph that matters.

Part II, 3(a) and 3(c)

The refund clocks

A refund is due back to the account you paid from, on the clock below. The rewrite in force from 24 February 2026 is why guides written before that date describe rules that no longer apply.

Booked directly with the airline
7 days
Booked through an agent or a travel site
14 working days

Exclusions

When nothing is owed

Six reasons switch the cash off: weather, air traffic control, security, a strike, a government order, and a natural disaster. The check reads the reason the airline gave and says so plainly rather than quoting you a number you will not get. Your refund survives all six.

Checked against CAR Section 3, Series M: Part IV Rev. 4 for compensation, Part II Rev. 3 for refunds.

Why most passengers never claim.

  • The app offered a voucher and a tap is not a signed agreement

  • You accepted the rebooking without knowing cash was also owed

  • ₹10,000 feels unclaimable without knowing which paragraph says so

Airlines settle fastest when the claim cites the clause; vouchers expire, rights don't.

A departure gate at night after everyone has gone: rows of empty seats, an unstaffed desk, and the aircraft still parked beyond the glass.

The message is already on your phone.

Cash compensation computed by the rulebook, not the airline's goodwill. One paste, at most three questions, and no account before you see the number.
